Our Pre-K Curriculum consists of age-appropriate literacy, math, and science concepts. We focus on a letter of the alphabet every week. We learn the name, sound, and even the proper way to write the letters. We have a lot of fun doing activities, experiments, and crafts that help us learn more about weekly themes, as well as, the weekly letter. In addition to whole group learning, we engage in small teacher-directed stations. We are committed to helping the children adjust to a structured environment, balancing both leaning and fun. We also help prepare them for the very important transition to Kindergarten. Our day is full of directed center time learning and quiet time activities including free play.

Rabbits Lead Teacher: Mrs. Katie Shive

My name is  Katie Shive and I have been with Honey Grove since July 2018. I have worked in the Kangas, Piglets, Eeyores, and am now the Lead in the Rabbits classroom. I graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 2002 and after that, I went to Ivy Tech and earned my Associates Degree in Education. I have been working in childcare since 2014. Teaching is something I have always wanted to do since I was a child.  I have been married for 10 years and have 3 girls and another girl due May 2020. In my spare time, I like to hang out with family and friends. I also like going to my gym (CGX) and working out.

Owls Lead Teacher: Mrs. Christy Hampton

My name is Mrs. Hampton and I have been with Honey Grove since 2017 as the lead in the Owls classroom.  I love being able to freely lesson plan to make the most fun out of activities and while we do our fair share of playing, we also incorporate learning skills to prepare our kiddos for the crazy world of kindergarten.  In my freetime I enjoy reading, journaling, playing with my son Kemper, and decorating our house.
